A couple of elements needed to be down for a foundation first:

1. Since your game server is hosted via a shared server, you will not be able to see ranks and unlocks in game it will always show everyone as a private.

This is due to the fact that you need to redirect the bf2web.gamespy.com to the ip address of your web server. This is not possible on a shared game server environment.

2. You will need to make sure on your web hosting you have mysql server and that your mysql server supports remote access(from another server). Your web hosting also has to allow htaccess modification on a per directory level. Your web hosting provider can give you this information.

I have a strong suspicion that you may not be able to accomplish this with gameservers. I had trouble running my own using a shared hosting for the game server and a shared hosting on the web server. I ended up going with a Virtual Dedicated Server from Nuclear Fallout. the total cost is 45.00 per month and it gives you a windows 2003 server that you can rung anything on it you want. We run our bf server, my sql server, and web sites from that. Let me know if the stufff will work on game servers or if you want more info on a VDS solution.
